Final Evaluations
My research and preparatory shoots have had a massive influence on my final series of images. My researched artists aided me with my levels of experimentation within my images, as well as producing strong sets of images, the artists have unique images, where no two are the same and each individual image bring different ideas and views on the topics of the sky. My preparatory shoots helped me in the experimentation of my ideas, helped me discover my strengths and weaknesses within both my editing and photo taking, in terms of my final images, i wouldn't have the ability to create them with out my prior research and shoots, as they aided me towards the decisions of my final ideas as well as the execution of my image.
I have learnt a lot within this topic, i have discovered my strengths and weaknesses within my capturing and editing of images as well as discovering new techniques and aesthetics within my work. I have discovered many different technical aspects to photography, this included using a tripod ( properly) as well as altering the shutter speed, aperture and exposure of my images, and also using RAW images within my work. i found many different ways of presenting my work, from the initial editing to the layout on my blogger. in terms of editing, i definitely experimented more within my work when using different Photoshop tools, like quick selection, which helps cut out parts of an image, dodging and burning, selective colour, filters, colour filters, clone brush and the spot healing tools. these were all techniques i wasn't entirely confident with prior to this project yet throughout the topic i have become increasingly confident with my photography and with the editing and refining of my images.
In terms of response to the exam paper,i feel my work is quite strong in terms of taking and editing images, but i feel i required more experimentation within my work, as well as more experience within different styles of experimentation as my preparatory shoots lacked experiments and were quite consistent in my style of refining and editing my images, to improve my work further, i feel that i need to work more with panoramas, in terms of both taking the images and digitally stitching them together as they were the one topic that i struggled with a lot, especially trying to blend the lines of the separate images, as the sets of images seemed to have different shutter speeds and apertures, which meant the images had a different level of brightness and saturation as well as level of detail. To summarise, i feel i was quite successful in terms of response to the exam paper and the topic of 'The Sky' yet my experimentation within the topic was little to none, but my final images do slightly make up for this as my edits of the images were a fairly new concept to my and also very different to my previous shoot, which i feel contributed to the final pieces that i had created
