Research influence(s)

My influence for this shoot was Stefan Lenz who is a German born photographer, blogger and author, specialising in city, landscape and glass ball photography, his images give a distorted view of landscapes and the sky through the medium of which they are taken through.

AO1: : Develop ideas through sustained
and focused investigations informed by contextual and other sources,
demonstrating analytical and critical understanding.
(Here you will discuss how you developed
your work based on your research of e.g. artists/photographers, etc).
my work has developed in many ways throughout the topic, this is shown through the variation of my image taking and my way of editing my work. My worked has developed due to my research of selected artists. Within this Shoot, my influence was Stefan Lenz who is a little known artist, who specialises in using glass balls within his work, by researching Lenz and his work, i was given i more unique view on landscapes and the topic of the sky, and that there are many ways to capture the topic, while using different techniques like distortion, different view points and by using framing, like Lenz and how he frames an image with the glass ball.
AO2: Explore and select appropriate resources, media, materials, techniques and processes, reviewing and refining ideas as work develops
all images were taken with a NIKON D3300 and later edited on Adobe Photoshop
camera settings for each image used are below:
first column is the image, second shutter speed, third aperture and fourth is ISO.
The following are thorough visual explanations of how i edited each individual image as no two of my images were edited/ retouched in the same way
final image 1 ~ black and white/colour

I feel i have created a fairly strong set of images, that both link to my original plans and my research, as my plans were to edit my images in a way of which shows a contrast between the view that you get within the glass ball, and the background behind it, i achieved my aim in many ways, this included changing the saturation, level of colour, tone and style of the ball and its background, all my final images were created using Adobe Photoshop. I feel that my images have clearly progressed throughout this section, this is because as my images progress, i begun to experiment more with the tools within Photoshop, as the earlier image weren't as retouched as the later ones. I feel that my set of images the exam topic as it shows the contrast between the sky in the foreground and background. Despite this, there is always room for improvement within any set of images, in order to get better images, i would've held the ball in different positions, as due to the way myself and my model held the ball, limited my editing options, as i would've liked to have edited the ball so that it was floating in mid air but due to fingers covering sections of it, i was unable to do this, so instead i followed through with my original ideas
AO4: Present a personal and meaningful response that realises intentions and, where appropriate, makes connections between visual and other elements.
(At the end of the entry you will discuss whether you have produced a personal and meaningful response, this means (are my images creative/relevant to the subject area studied/connected and influenced by any research undertaken).
The concept behind this set of images is ' a new perspective', the series is an attempt to show different views of the sky through different mediums, a glass ball, and the difference between the view from the ball and the background surrounding it. I feel that this is a meaningful response that makes connections between the topic of the Sky and my own ideas of perspective, i feel that my images are creative and relevant to the subject area as they portray a medium that may not have typically been explored before when photographing the sky, i feel they also show a connection to my research influence as i used the same style of photography as them, but using different ideas and subjects.
